Substance abuse and addiction can exacerbate the complications brought about by mental and behavioral health conditions. At Gulfport Behavioral, we understand the challenges faced by individuals with an addiction. We are committed to providing dual diagnosis treatment to those who are navigating the difficulties of drug and alcohol addiction and behavioral health. If you or a loved one is suffering, feel at ease knowing that we are here to help.
Dual diagnosis inpatient treatment at Gulfport Behavioral is for adults who suffer from co-occurring mental, behavioral and substance abuse disorders so severe they require intensive 24-hour care at a live-in facility. Prospective individuals for this program must have a primary mental health evaluation and receive medical clearance from a medical professional. If applicable individuals do not have a medical provider we can assist them in locating one.
Our inpatient medical services allow patients to receive attentive care, treatment, and support. The Gulfport Behavioral staff strives to help people overcome their co-occurring disorders through evidence-based treatment methods, helping them identify the root cause of the problem. Knowing how these conditions affect others is the first step toward addressing the mental and behavioral condition as well as the co-occurring addiction. We provide a secure, and private environment for patients to pursue their treatment and make meaningful progress through methodology that incorporates behavioral health strategies, which allow patients to adopt and practice healthy habits.
Avenues of treatment may include suggested behavior and lifestyle changes, group activities, alternative therapies and psychiatric care. We also help empower patients to identify and navigate the challenges of addition and how they might relate to existing mental health concerns. Some of the conditions with addition that our mental health providers can help treat include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, self-harming, suicidal ideations, harm toward others and more.
At Gulfport Behavioral, we understand that additions and mental health are closely related and that they affect patients differently. That is why we emphasize a personalized approach to care and treatment. While our inpatient services facilitate intensive treatment, we also provide outpatient substance abuse recovery programs. These programs are recommended for patients who prefer treatment outside of a clinical environment. As well, our outpatient services may be modified to accommodate patients who wish to pursue a gradual reintegration into society.
We proudly offer all our programs to active military members and their families through TRICARE®.
Because recovery is a process that involves the entire body, it is most appropriately addressed through hospital-based care in our adult substance abuse program. This includes our inpatient detox program which helps individuals begin the addiction recovery process so they can continue treatment in a structured environment.
The demanding nature of these professions can take a toll on mental well-being. We are dedicated to shedding light on the importance of inpatient mental health treatment tailored specifically for first responders.
