Dual Diagnosis Treatment

Dual Diagnosis Treatment in Gulfport, MS

Substance abuse and addiction can exacerbate the complications brought about by mental health conditions. At Gulfport Behavioral Health, we understand the challenges our patients face. We are committed to providing dual diagnosis treatment in Gulfport, MS, to patients who are navigating the difficulties of drug addiction and behavioral health. If you or a loved one is suffering, you may feel at ease knowing that we are here to help.

Dual diagnosis inpatient treatment at our behavioral health facility is for adolescent and adult patients who suffer from co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders so severe they require intensive 24-hour care at a live-in facility. Prospective patients for this program must have a primary mental health evaluation and receive medical clearance from a clinical professional. We can direct individuals to a medical evaluator if needed.

In addition to helping patients overcome their co-occurring disorders through evidence-based treatment methods, we help them identify the root cause of the problem. Knowing how these conditions affect others is the first step toward addressing both issues.

Care that Develops with the Patient

Our inpatient medical services allow patients to receive attentive care, treatment, and support. We provide a secure, and private environment for patients to pursue their treatment and make meaningful progress. Our methodology incorporates behavioral health strategies, which allow patients to adopt and practice healthy habits.

Avenues of treatment may include suggested behavior and lifestyle changes, group activities, and psychiatric care. We also help empower patients to identify and navigate the challenges of drug and substance abuse and how they might relate to existing mental health concerns. Our mental health hospital can help treat a variety of conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and more. Our staff treats co-occurring mental health disorders in children, adolescents, and adults.

Substance abuse and mental health are closely related. We understand that these conditions affect patients differently. Therefore, we emphasize a personalized approach to care and treatment. While our inpatient services facilitate intensive treatment, we also provide outpatient substance abuse recovery programs. These programs are recommended for patients who prefer treatment outside of a clinical environment. As well, our outpatient services may be modified to accommodate patients who wish to pursue a gradual reintegration into society.

We proudly offer all our programs to active military members and their families through TRICARE.
