Inpatient treatment at Gulfport Behavioral Health System provides adults, adolescents, pre-adolescents and children (as young as 4) with a secure, supportive environment where they can recover from an emotional or mental health issue. Inpatient programs are evidence based and designed to stabilize individuals in crisis, help them develop effective coping skills and enable them to achieve long-term mental wellness.
Some individuals have experienced traumatic events in their lives that have caused them to experience stress, anxiety and or withdrawal to the point it impacts their daily dally lives and interactions. These traumatic events can range from experiencing major disasters, day to day traumatic events (such as a first responder), personal assaults, prolonged illnesses of a family member, friend or self, stressful work or personal environments and many more. Gulfport Behavioral helps individuals identify these trauma, develop coping skills to avoid triggers and get on a road to a better mental health life.
After graduating from an inpatient program, patients may be encouraged to step down to a less intensive form of care to maintain recovery and reduce the chances of re-hospitalization. The level of care a patient is initially admitted to is determined by the results of a no-cost, confidential assessment.
